What`s the difference between CDG & DVD?
These are different formats on which Karaoke discs are produced.
CDG is by far the more popular format for Karaoke & the main format for Karaoke in the UK & US, mainly because they are much cheaper to produce. When buying CDG discs from our website please make sure your Karaoke Player is compatable with CDG format, as most normal DVD Players will not play CDG discs.
What does CDG stand for?
CDG stands for Compact Disc + Graphics (also known CD+G).
A CDG is a compact disc created with graphics in addition to the standard audio track found on a normal audio CD. If you play a CDG disc in a normal CD Player you will only hear the sound, to produce the on-screen lyrics you need a CDG Karaoke Player.
What does DVD stand for?
DVD stands for Digital Versatile Disc.
Some people assume the `V` stands for video! Verstaile gets its credit from the fact that the format is very versatile, in that there are lots more features to be found on a DVD
Sound tracks, galleries, deleted scenes, extra footage, outakes, web links etc...
What is a custom Selectatrack Karaoke disc?
In years gone by, we have had to make do with what manufacturers have put on discs to fill up our libraries. Now the choice is yours, you can use Selectatrack to custom make your own Karaoke disc, in either CDG or DVD format.
What`s the difference between a backing track & Karaoke?
We have lots of singers using our Karaoke discs as backing tracks, and most of the time it is not a problem. The difference between a Karaoke disc and a backing track is the amount of vocals. A Karaoke disc is a remake of the original song minus only the lead vocal, any backing vocals that were on the original will still be on Karaoke disc. A backing track is usually just an instrumental version of the song, without any vocals what so ever. That is the difference, so if you are planning to use Karaoke discs as your backing tracks, please make sure that backing vocals are ok before ordering.

How do i search for karaoke tracks?
You can search for your favourite songs by Song Title or by Artist, by clicking the karaoke discs tab & using the search bar on the left hand side of the page.
If you can`t find the track you want try and keep your searches simple, for example if you are searching for "You`ll Never Walk Alone - Gerry & The Pacemakers", try searching for "Never Walk Alone" or "Pacemakers", because sometimes spelling and punctuation can differ, so keeping your searches simple will get around this. You can also browse discs by manufacturer.
